The Smurfs Film Hitting Theaters July 29th

The 3-D live-action CGI film “The Smurfs” is slated for release on July 29.

Set in the Middle Ages and in current-day New York City, the film follows the tiny Smurfs as they are chased out of their village by the evil wizard Gargamel and are time-travel transported to New York City, from where they must find their way back home before they are caught by Gargamel.

The Columbia Pictures production, directed by Raja Gosnell, features live-action performances from Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Hank Azaria, Sofia Vergara, Tim Gunn and Frank Langella, as well as the voices of Jonathan Winters, Katy Perry, Jeff Foxworthy, Paul Reubens, Alan Cumming, George Lopez and Anton Yelchin.
